Founded in 1869 Located approximately 20 minutes from Nashville, Smyrna, TN is a family-friendly town with many amenities including great outdoor activities and historic sites.  The Smyrna Parks Department consists of more than 800 acres of property dedicated to recreation and leisure activities.  Smyrna boasts twelve public parks, twelve miles of trails and greenways, numerous athletic fields, a public pool, a splash pad, an outdoor adventure center, multiple practice areas, and green space.  We also have three buildings that are available to rent for your special event: Rosenwald Community Center, Assembly Hall, and the Smyrna Train Depot.The  greenway system, a municipal golf course, a low property tax rate and access to Percy Priest Lake make Smyrna a draw for those seeking an active lifestyle. This vibrant, growing community of more than 50,000 residents is home to a Nissan factory, the city’s largest private employer.
