Storytellers Needed for Festival

Last Updated 6/2/2025

Our friends at the Historic Sam Davis Home are hosting an inaugural Storytelling Festival on June 28th. They're looking for amateur storytellers to entertain with stories that make the audience laugh, think, and smile—whether it’s a true tale, a friend’s misadventure, or a tall tale.

The contest will be limited to ten storytellers, with each story lasting about ten minutes. Stories should be family-friendly, kind, and funny—think of the dad who always nails the punchline, the sister who rambles on with crazy stories, or Aunt Gladys and her squirrel-in-the-outhouse fiasco!

All contestants will receive a swag bag, and the top three will win cash prizes. To enter or nominate someone, email [email protected].

The festival begins at noon and features special guests, literary vendors, and a food truck for lunch. This promises to be a fun day for all ages!
